Eddie Munjoma Wins USL Championship Title With Phoenix Rising
Eddie Munjoma, a defender with Phoenix Rising FC, won the USL Championship title with their penalty shootout victory over the Charleston Battery last night.
In a thrilling match, Phoenix Rising tied the score at 1-1 with a 90th minute goal from John Stenberg before claiming the victory, 3-2, in the penalty shootout.
The win gave Phoenix its first USL Championship in club history. It won each of its playoff matches on the road this season, a first in USL Championship playoff history.
On the season, Eddie appeared in 36 matches, starting 27 of them and playing 2,551 minutes. He also scored 2 goals.

Chris Brady Named Chicago Fire’s Defensive Player Of The Year
Chris Brady, the 19-year old starting goalkeeper for the Chicago Fire FC, was named the club’s 2023 Defensive Player of the Year today.
Chris led the team in starts (30) and minutes played (2,640). He became just the 3rd GK in club history to be named the Defensive Player of the Year, joining Fire legends Zach Thornton and Sean Johnson. He recorded 8 clean sheets on the season, which is 6th most in club history. He became the 2nd youngest GK in MLS history to record a clean sheet and the 2nd teenager in MLS history to record 3-straight clean sheets. He was also the only GK to be named to the 22 Under 22 List by BodyArmor, which ranked the 22 best players in MLS under 22 years of age.
Chris was also called in to the U.S. Olympic team camp as it prepares for the upcoming 2024 Paris Summer Games.
It was quite a rookie season for Chris and the future is very bright for this talented GK. Congratulations Chris Brady!
Inter Miami Exercises 2024 Option On Ian Fray
Inter Miami has exercised its 2024 club option on defender/midfielder Ian Fray.
Ian initially signed with Inter Miami CF at 18 years of age as a homegrown signing - the 3rd Inter Miami CF Academy graduate to be signed to the First Team as a Homegrown Player.
In 2023, Ian started 7 games for the club and scored his first professional goal against DC United. He became a regular on the squad before his unfortunate knee injury in Lionel Messi’s first game for the club, in the Leagues Cup against Liga MX side Cruz Azul.
Ian is currently on the road to recovery and we are very excited to see his comeback in 2024!
Chris Brady Starts In Olympic Team Victory Against Japan
Chris Brady, the 19-year old starting goalkeeper for the Chicago Fire, started in goal for the U.S. Youth National Team in its victory over Japan on October 17, 2023 in Phoenix, Arizona. The match was the culmination of a training camp for the U.S. team as it prepares for the upcoming Summer Olympics in Paris. The USA won the match 4-1.
Chris was the starting goalkeeper for the U.S. when it qualified for the Olympics in 2022. He will now return to the Chicago Fire in advance of their last game of the regular season, away at New York City FC on Saturday, October 21, 2023.
Chris Brady Named to BODYARMOR's 22 Under 22 List
Chris Brady, the 19-year old starting goalkeeper for the Chicago Fire FC, was voted as one of the top players in MLS under the age of 22. Brady was ranked number 17 on the list, and was the only goalkeeper on this list.
In his first full season as the starting goalkeeper for the Chicago Fire, Chris has appeared in 29 regular season matches, starting in all 29. He has 8 shutouts on the season, which ranks 7th in the league, despite playing less matches than those ahead of him. His 8 shutouts also tie him with current Chicago Fire goalkeeping coach Zach Thornton and Matt Lampson for 6th most in a single season in club history. Also with 91 saves on the season, Chris has recorded the most saves in a single season since 2014.
Chris signed his first professional contract at 16 years old. He was voted the best goalkeeper at the 2022 CONCACAF U20 Championship held in Honduras, leading the USA to its third-straight CONCACAF title, its first Olympic berth since 2008 and a trip to the 2023 FIFA Under 20 World Cup. He did not allow a single goal during the 4-game knockout stage, only allowed 2 goals in his 6 starts, and was ultimately named the best goalkeeper in the tournament.

Chris Brady Called Into U.S. Olympic Team Training Camp
Chris Brady, the 19-year old starting goalkeeper for the Chicago Fire, has been called up into the U.S. Men’s Olympic National Team for its upcoming training camp before the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Chris was the starting goalkeeper for the U.S. Under 20 Youth National Team which won the CONCACAF U20 Championship in 2022. By winning the tournament, the USA qualified for the 2024 Olympics, which are being held in Paris. Chris won the Golden Glove Award at the CONCACAF Championships, given to the top goalkeeper in the tournament. He did not allow a single goal during the 4-game knockout stage and in his 6 starts in the tournament, he only allowed 2 goals in 508 minutes in goal.
This season with the Chicago Fire, Chris has posted 8 clean sheets. In his 4th career start, he became the 2nd youngest goalkeeper in MLS history to record a clean sheet, and the 2nd teenager in MLS history to record 3-straight clean sheets.
This is the 1st time since 2008 that the USA has qualified for the Olympics. During this training camp, the squad will take on Mexico on October 11 and Japan on October 17.

Federico Oliva Signs With Mag Mile Sport
Federico Oliva, a native of Chicago, has signed with Mag Mile Sport.
In 2012, when Fede was 8 years old, he was invited to a trial with Atletico Madrid and shortly thereafter, signed with the club. During his time in the Atletico Madrid youth system, he attracted interest from multiple clubs in Spain due to his performances mainly in LaLiga Promises. Fede played for the Juvenil A squad in 2021, when he was 16 years old, and also trained with the 1st team as a teenager.
In 2022, Fede joined Almeria - making his senior debut with the B-team against UD Maracena in a 3-0 win.
Fede is currently a free agent.
Due to his birth in the USA, he is eligible to play for the USA National Team. He has represented the USA at the U15 and U17 levels, and was a member of the U15 squad that was a semifinalist at the CONCACAF Championships in 2019. Fede is also able to represent Argentina as both of his parents hail from Argentina.

George Acosta Signs With Mag Mile Sport
George Acosta has signed with Mag Mile Sport.
George is a Miami native who played for the Weston Academy and the North Carolina U23's before heading to Argentina to sign with Boca Juniors following the 2017 FIFA U17 World Cup.
While at Boca Juniors, he played for the U20 and reserve teams.
In 2019, George signed with Austin Bold FC of the USL Championship. He later joined Inter Miami CF ahead of their inaugural season in 2020.
George is currently with Cortulua in Colombia.

Ian Fray's Inter Miami Wins 2023 Leagues Cup
On Saturday, August 19, 2023, Inter Miami CF defeated Nashville SC at GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tennessee to win the inaugural Leagues Cup. The match ended 1-1 in regulation with Lionel Messi scoring for Inter Miami. The game ended when Inter Miami goalkeeper Drake Callender scored his penalty kick in round 11 of the shootout and then saved the penalty kick attempt from Nashville's goalkeeper.
Ian Fray started Inter Miami's first game in the Leagues Cup against Cruz Azul but sustained a knee injury in the match. Although he is currently rehabilitating his knee injury, he accompanied the team to Nashville for their historic victory.

Gio Villa and USA Win U15 CONCACAF Championship Over Mexico
Mag Mile Sport's Gio Villa and the United States Under-15 Boys National Team completed a perfect week at the CONCACAF Championship with a 4-2 victory over Mexico in the final at the Estadio Olympic Felix Sanchez in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
The USA reached the final after dominating performances in the group stage, beating Qatar (3-2), Cuba (11-0) and Haiti (3-0). In the knockout rounds, the USA eliminated Guatemala (4-1) in the quarterfinal before beating Haiti again in the semifinal (1-0).
Gio was the starting right-back for all but one game, as he was rested in the USA's win over Cuba. The win in the final was especially satisfying for Gio, and he chose to represent the USA over Mexico in the tournament.

Gio Villa Named To USA U15 Youth National Team For CONCACAF Championship
Mag Mile Sport's Gio Villa, a 15-year old defender/midfielder with the Real Salt Lake Academy, has been named to the final roster for the United States U15 Youth Men's National Team for the upcoming CONCACAF Championship.
The tournament, which begins this Sunday, will be held in Curacao and the Dominican Republic from August 6-13. The competition is arranged into three leagues - A, B and C - with each league divided into groups. The USA will compete in League A with Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Trinidad and Tobago.
All League A matches will be held in the Dominican Republic, with the USA playing against Qatar, Haiti and Cuba in the round-robin stage.
Gio has had a stellar 2022-2023 season with his Real Salt Lake U15 Academy team, which qualified for the MLS NEXT Cup playoffs with a perfect 3-0-0 record at the MLS NEXT Flex tournament. In the Cup playoffs, the RSL U15's advanced to the Quarterfinal stage, but fell to CF Montreal in a 13-round penalty shootout.
In addition, Gio has made multiple appearances this season for the youth national teams of the USA and Mexico, and chose to represent the USA over Mexico for the CONCACAF Championship.

Chris Brady Becomes Second Teen In MLS History To Record 3 Straight Clean Sheets
On Saturday, July 15, 2023, the Chicago Fire FC beat Toronto FC 1-0 at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois. This win was Chicago's third win in a row, after previously beating Nashville (1-0) and Montreal (3-0).
With their shutout win over Toronto, Chicago Fire FC Goalkeeper Chris Brady became only the second teenager in MLS history to record three straight clean sheets. Only Gabriel Slonina has done it before.
The victory over Toronto was also the fourth clean sheet for Chris in his last five matches. He now has six clean sheets for the season.
Chris is also sixth in MLS in total saves, with 67 on the season. This is despite him having played at least 2 less matches than his counterparts.
The Chicago Fire's next match is on August 20, 2023 against Orlando City at Soldier Field.

Mag Mile Sport's Ian Fray, a talented 20-year old defender and midfielder, will be teaming with Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets at Inter Miami CF. Both players were unveiled in a presentation in Miami over the weekend before thousands of fans in a rainstorm at DRV PNK Stadium.
On the season, Ian has made 13 appearances across all competitions, starting 9 matches - including starts in his club's last 7 matches. He has 1 goal and 1 assist, with a 86.2% passing accuracy rate.

Ian Fray Scores First Professional Goal With Inter Miami
20-year old Ian Fray scored on a wonderful strike last night against DC United for his first goal of his professional career. Ian, a second half substitute, received a pass from Robert Taylor at the top of the box, took one touch and beat DC United Goalkeeper Tyler Miller to make the game 2-1.
Despite the goal, Inter Miami lost 2-1.

Ian Fray, a native of Coconut Creek, Florida, has signed with Mag Mile Sport!
Ian is a very talented 20 year old defender who signed with Inter Miami CF at 18 years of age. He was the 3rd Inter Miami CF Academy graduate to be signed to the First Team as a Homegrown Player.
Prior to signing his First Team contract, Ian was a standout for both the Academy sides and Inter Miami CF II.
Ian was also named in the USL League One All-League Second Team in 2020 while playing for Fort Lauderdale CF, where he had the 4th highest passing accuracy among defenders in the league at 86.5%.

Eddie Munjoma, a young, talented defender, has signed with Mag Mile Sport.
Eddie enjoyed a stellar collegiate career at SMU where he was a semi-finalist for the 2019 MAC Hermann Award. Between 2016 and 2019, he made 66 appearances, scoring 12 goals and assisting on 22 others.
He then became the 27th homegrown signing in FC Dallas History in 2020. He made his professional debut for North Texas SC in October 7, 2020. He played a total of 15 matches for FC Dallas' former USL League One affiliate in 2020-2021, scoring 5 goals. He made his debut for FC Dallas on September 24, 2021. He appeared in 17 matches for FC Dallas in 2021-2022 with 1 goal and an assist across all competitions.
He is currently with USL Championship side Phoenix Rising. A very talented, speedy and technical defender, Eddie has a bright future ahead of him, and Mag Mile Sport is very excited to be working with him.

Mag Mile Sport has signed 19-year old Chicago Fire Goalkeeper Chris Brady to an agency contract.
Chris is one of the top young goalkeepers in the world and one of the best goalkeepers the United States has ever produced. He is currently the starting goalkeeper for the Chicago Fire and, earlier this season, in his fourth career start, he became the second youngest goalkeeper in MLS history to record a clean sheet (at 19 years and 29 days old). He recorded his second clean sheet of the season on May 13, 2023 against St. Louis City FC.
He was also awarded the Golden Glove as the best goalkeeper at the 2022 CONCACAF U20 Championship held in Honduras, leading the USA to its third-straight CONCACAF title, its first Olympic berth since 2008 and a trip to the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup. He did not allow a single goal during the 4-game knockout stage and in his 6 starts in the tournament, he only allowed 2 goals in 508 minutes in goal.
