Chris Brady Called Into U.S. Olympic Team Training Camp
Chris Brady, the 19-year old starting goalkeeper for the Chicago Fire, has been called up into the U.S. Men’s Olympic National Team for its upcoming training camp before the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Chris was the starting goalkeeper for the U.S. Under 20 Youth National Team which won the CONCACAF U20 Championship in 2022. By winning the tournament, the USA qualified for the 2024 Olympics, which are being held in Paris. Chris won the Golden Glove Award at the CONCACAF Championships, given to the top goalkeeper in the tournament. He did not allow a single goal during the 4-game knockout stage and in his 6 starts in the tournament, he only allowed 2 goals in 508 minutes in goal.
This season with the Chicago Fire, Chris has posted 8 clean sheets. In his 4th career start, he became the 2nd youngest goalkeeper in MLS history to record a clean sheet, and the 2nd teenager in MLS history to record 3-straight clean sheets.
This is the 1st time since 2008 that the USA has qualified for the Olympics. During this training camp, the squad will take on Mexico on October 11 and Japan on October 17.
