Chris Brady Named to USMNT Roster for First Camp of the New Cycle
Chris Brady with the U.S. Men's National Team
Chicago Fire FC goalkeeper Chris Brady has been named to the U.S. Men's National Team roster for its September and October camp, the first since the 2026 World Cup.
Brady is one of four goalkeepers selected by head coach Mauricio Pochettino in a 28-player group that will face Peru, Chile, Mexico, and Canada. Players begin reporting to Atlanta on September 20.
A new cycle for the national team
The four-match window opens the USMNT's 2030 FIFA World Cup cycle and contains the team's first matches since the 2026 World Cup. Brady returns as one of 13 players on the roster who were part of the United States' World Cup squad this summer. He enters camp with one senior international appearance.
His selection continues a year of significant international milestones. In May, he was named to the 2026 World Cup roster, becoming the first Chicago Fire Homegrown Player and Fire Academy graduate selected for a senior World Cup squad.
A season that earned it
The call-up follows the strongest season of Brady's career. He has been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday five times in 2026, most recently after a six-save performance in Chicago's 1-1 draw with Inter Miami CF before a club-record crowd of 63,094 at Soldier Field.
Asked after that match what his attack had been missing, Inter Miami interim head coach Guillermo Hoyos said: "Nothing went wrong; the standout player of the match was the goalkeeper."
The upcoming schedule
The United States will play four matches during the window:
Peru — September 26 at Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando, Florida
Chile — September 29 at Energizer Park in St. Louis, Missouri
Mexico — October 3 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona
Canada — October 6 at Allianz Field in St. Paul, Minnesota
Built in Chicago
The Naperville native joined the Fire as a Homegrown Player in March 2020 at age 16, the 19th Homegrown signing in club history. He has since started 116 MLS regular-season matches, recording 370 saves and 26 clean sheets, and has made 129 appearances for the club across all competitions.
He returns to Chicago after the window for the closing stretch of the Fire's season, with 10 regular-season matches remaining through November 7.
Mag Mile Sport congratulates Chris on another well-earned selection and wishes him and the USMNT success throughout the international window.
