Isaiah Parente Scores A Brace In U.S. Open Cup Victory
Isaiah Parente scored two goals and assisted on another in tonight’s 5-1 victory for the Columbus Crew over Loudoun United in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Columbus now moves on to the Round of 16 in the tournament.
The U.S. Open Cup is the oldest ongoing soccer tournament in the United States. The single-elimination tournament is open to all teams in the United States, amateur and professional.
The draw for the Round of 16 will be conducted on Thursday, May 11, 2023.
15-Year Old Gio Villa Signs Multi-Year Endorsement Contract With Nike
Mag Mile Sport's Juan “Gio” Villa, a 15-year-old soccer player from Oak Forest, Illinois, has signed a multi-year endorsement deal with Nike. The agreement covers footwear, apparel, eyewear, accessories and sporting equipment.
“I am very excited to join the Nike family,” said Gio, who is currently a member of the Real Salt Lake MLS Academy. “Having the opportunity to represent a global icon like Nike really means a lot to me, and I am humbled that they have chosen me to represent them as one of their athletes. It really is a dream come true.”
Nike is the world’s leading designer, marketer and distributor of authentic athletic footwear, apparel, equipment and accessories for a wide variety of sports and fitness athletes. Nike sponsors many of the top soccer players in the world, including Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, Marcus Rashford and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The deal comes in the middle of Gio’s first season with Real Salt Lake, where he has quickly made a name as one of the top U-15 players in the country. Although only 15 years old, Gio has made multiple appearances with Real Salt Lake’s U-17 squad and recently accompanied the team on training trip to England. He has also received several call-ups to the youth national teams for the USA and Mexico and is currently with the USA U-15 national team at the Pinatar Super Cup in Spain.

Gio has decided to accept the call-up from the USA and will be representing the USA at the Pinatar Super Cup in Spain later this month.

Mag Mile Sport's Aaron Cervantes has signed a contract with LA Galaxy II for the 2023 Season. He has returned to MLS after a stint with Scottish powerhouse Rangers, where he transferred in 2021. It's a homecoming for Aaron as he played at the Galaxy Academy prior to signing his first professional deal with Orange County SC as a 15-year old.

He has also spent time at Patrick Thistle (Scotland) and Orange County SC (USL Championship). He signed his first professional deal with Orange County SC at the age of 15 - making him the younger ever player to sign a professional deal with the club.

Isaiah Parente Signs With Mag Mile Sport
Isaiah was a part of the Columbus Crew Academy between 2015 and 2018, making a total of 68 appearances and scoring 15 goals. In 2018, he went on to play for Wake Forest University, making 50 appearances for the school. He was then announced as a Homegrown Signing for the Columbus Crew on January 11, 2021 and made his pro debut shortly thereafter. He was named in the MLS NEXT Pro Best XI in 2022.
