Gio Villa Called Into U.S. U-16 Youth National Team Camp

Gio Villa, a 16-year old defender with the Real Monarchs and Real Salt Lake Academy, was called in to the U.S. Under-16 Men's Youth National Team for a training camp in West Palm Beach, Florida from April 14 to April 19. This is the first training camp of the year and second of the cycle for this squad.

22 players were called in, as this group will transition to become the U-17 Men's Youth National Team later in 2024 and attempt to qualify for the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar at the 2025 CONCACAF U-17 Championship.

Gio is no stranger to being called in to the US Youth National Team, as he was the starting right-back for the U-15 Youth National Team that won the CONCACAF Championship in 2023. He also represented the youth national teams of Mexico before deciding to tie himself to the USA last year.
